My House Has Become Babies R Us!

Robert and I bought a 2 bed 2 bath condo when we first got married. We had looked and looked and we were buying during the housing boom so things that were in our price range just weren't what "I" was looking for. Orlando is alot of OLD neighborhoods with TINY houses in them. We would have had to totally redo a house if that was what we decided to buy. Plus I wasn't keen on the location of any of the homes that we were actually looking. Moving from small town Louisiana to Orlando was quite the culture shock to me. I wasn't used to hearing about a murder every day on the news. I think that may have happened in the Ark-la-tex maybe 3 times in my life time! So, needless to say I was a little picky about where we lived. I loved the condo and it was a gated community, that was new, clean, and I knew that it had lots of potential.
Robert and I have had a great time working on it. We have laid new hardwood floors, painted, and even changed several of the fixtures in the house. I have had a great time decorating t for fall, Christmas, spring, and even summer. Robert is amazed at all the boxed of decorations we have and we have only been married for 4 years. We have entertained many of our friends and have really enjoyed our "first" home. Since the baby has come we have turned our guest bedroom into the nursery and our computer now lives on the dining room table. UNLESS we are having company and then we wheel the printer and office supplies out into the storage for the night! We are getting rid of a coffee table and getting something much smaller so all of Georgia Kate's things can fit into our LITTLE space! We have an exersaucer, jumper, high chair, toy box, boppy seat, and musical table ALL in the den! Yes...I have to admit that it drives me crazy sometimes and I threaten to get rid of something, but I have to say that I am doing a pretty good job managing all these things in such a small place! I know that soon enough we will be able to sell this place and find a new home that Georgia Kate will get to grow up in, but for now...I love my house being the 2nd Babies R Us in Orlando!

ah...the joys of becoming Mommy & Daddy of a little one - their things DO take over our "pretties" sometimes. Just wait until she starts crawling everywhere, then pulling up and cruising. Watch out bottom shelves! Sure, you don't have to get rid of everything, but you just have to move it up a little higher! :-)
